This project started as a completely unfinished basement and became a full frame-to-finish transformation.
The project was designed and contracted by T2 Design and Build, with Zack serving as project manager and lead carpenter throughout the build. Working from T2’s design, Zack handled much of the carpentry and day-to-day coordination, including framing, insulation, built-ins, cabinetry, door hanging, finish carpentry, and bathroom and kitchen installation.
Rae handled much of the finishing work, including drywall mudding, painting, caulking, prep, touch-ups, and the smaller details that help bring the finished space together. She also helped keep the project moving behind the scenes with material runs, sourcing needed supplies, and working on custom stain-color matching for portions of the project that aren’t shown in these photos.
Another subcontractor worked alongside them on many of the details throughout the build, while electrical and plumbing companies handled their respective trades, including the lighting, switches, and plumbing work.
Projects like this are a good reminder that a finished remodel is made up of far more than what you see in the final photos.
There’s framing, insulation, coordination, material sourcing, drywall, trim, cabinetry, paint, stain matching, installations, problem solving, and countless small decisions along the way.
